Here at BadassConcert.com we bring you, the coverage and excitement you want! That’s why Vic Vinegar is bringing you exclusive coverage from Kearney, Nebraska’s Slantpiece. He tracked down Mr. Derek Johnson and gave him an interview, or more like an interrogation ha ha. Here is the information you need…
VV: What is the name of your band?
DJ: Slantpiece
VV: Who are the bands members?
DJ: Derek Johnson, Derek Tavis, BIll Sabah, Wryan Carpenter.
VV: When was the band formed?
DJ: January 12, 2012.
VV: What genre would you say your band is in?
DJ: There’s so many genres anymore. I would have to say just plain old metal band influences? Pantera, Black Label Society, Slayer, Old Metallica, Black Sabbath, Crown Royal, women and reefer.
VV: Band interests?
DJ: We like hanging out with good friends, jammin with other bands, grilling up some good grub. We party on occasion.
VV: Tell me in your words what to expect from the band.
DJ: You’re gonna get 4 guys who love to do what they do: make kick ass music and share it with everyone we can. We get a little crazy, we have a blast, and we’ll be out in the crowd partying with everyone!
VV: Best or crazy band experience?
DJ: Our best experience was probably when we went to Fuse Recording for 3 days to record the rest of our debut EP “Get You Some”. Just being in the studio, the partying at night when we were done, really was some of the best times of our lives.
VV: Worst band experience?
DJ: The time that we had to open for One Direction.
VV: What do you have available? (albums, merch, etc.) …and how do fans obtain it?
DJ: We have our debut EP “Get you Some” available at cdbaby.com, iTunes, Amazon mp3 store, Hastings Books and Music in Kearney. We have some kick ass tshirts, bandanas, wristbands, lighters that you can get at any of our shows, or by hitting us up on our Facebook page.
