Crowbar – Symmetry in Black

I’ve loved Crowbar since 1993. Was a member of the fan club and always loved Kirk’s riffs and heavy singing but still sneaking melody in. I dropped the tuning of my guitar back then because of Crowbar and never went back. This album I believe is honestly the best stuff they’ve done. More melody, more heavy, more to love.

Incite – Up in Hell

Was interested since I heard it was Max Cavalera’s son and Machine Head loved them. Awesome grooves.. Great vocal choices. Love it.

Sleeping Giant – Finished People

Always liked these guys. Powerful on album and even more live. Every album seems a little better than the last. This one follows that trend. Always loved the sound of his heavy vocal, and the guitar tones get better each album as well.

The Devil You Know – The Beauty of Destruction

Always loved Killswitch Engage, so I immediately checked them out since it’s Howard’s new band. Tons of good heavy grooves, dynamics, good lyrics and great songwriting.

Volumes – No Sleep

Not as good as the last album “Via”, which is one of my personal faves, but still a solid record. Always liked their back and forth vocal style and always some great guitar and drum grooves in there. Most Djent bands sound pretty similar in their tone and formula, but these guys always sound just different enough to me to not sound like another cookie cutter band.
